Common need
ROES needs to be removed and reinstalled cleanly on a Windows computer.

Overview

A clean reinstall removes the installed ROES application and the cached ROES files in ProgramData, then installs ROES again using a fresh launch.msi installer from the lab’s default index page.

Before You Begin

Close ROES before starting. These steps remove the local Windows ROES application and cached ROES program data.

Clean Reinstall Steps

1

Uninstall the ROES application

Open Control Panel > Programs and Features, then uninstall the ROES application.

2

Confirm the ROES folder was removed

The uninstall should remove the ROES folder from:

C:\Program Files (x86)\ROES
3

Open ProgramData

The ProgramData folder is hidden by default. Click or right-click the Windows Start button, choose Run, or enter this in the search field:

%PROGRAMDATA%

The ProgramData folder will open.

4

Delete the SWROES folder

Delete the SWROES folder from:

C:\ProgramData\SWROES
5

Download a fresh installer

Download a fresh launch.msi installer from the lab’s default ROES index page.

6

Install ROES

Run the fresh launch.msi installer and install ROES again.

Expected Result

After the old ROES application and SWROES cached files are removed, the fresh launch.msi install should create a clean local ROES installation.
