ROES Launch Failure: Cached Files Are Too Old to Use
Use this article when ROES fails to launch with a message indicating that cached ROES files are too old to use.
Cause
This launch failure is usually caused by antivirus software, security software, malware, or adware blocking ROES from downloading updated resources.
ROES resources are refreshed every couple of weeks. If a security or adware package blocks those downloads, ROES may only have outdated cached files available and cannot launch correctly.
Fix
Find the blocking software
Check the computer for antivirus, security software, malware, or adware that may be blocking ROES downloads.
Disable or remove the offending package
Temporarily disable or remove the suspected software package, then try the ROES installation or launch again.
Verify ROES launches successfully
After the blocking software is disabled or removed, confirm that ROES can download the needed resources and launch successfully.
