Installed Font Not Working in Client - ROES Desktop
Font Installed in Windows Does Not Appear in ROES Desktop
Use this article when a font appears installed in Windows and other applications, but is not available in the ROES Desktop client.
Applies To
ROES Desktop on the Windows platform.
Cause
This appears to be caused by Windows 10 font access rules. A font may be installed only for the current user, which can prevent ROES Desktop from seeing it in the font list or using it when text is rendered with the font attribute.
Solution
Locate the font file
Find the font file that needs to be available in ROES Desktop.
Install the font for all users
Right-click the font and select Install for all users. This makes the font available system-wide instead of only to the current Windows user.
If this image does not display, open it directly: Win10_FontInstall.png
Restart and retest ROES Desktop
Restart ROES Desktop and confirm the font appears in the font list or renders correctly when used by the font attribute.
Expected Result
After the font is installed for all users, ROES Desktop should be able to access the font for selection in the font list and for rendering text that uses the font attribute.
Escalation Notes
- Confirm the issue is on ROES Desktop for Windows.
- Confirm the font is visible in other Windows applications.
- Confirm the font was installed with Install for all users, not only installed for the current user.
- After reinstalling the font, restart ROES Desktop before retesting.
