Error EnsembleCommunicator - ROES Server
ROES Server Repeating Heartbeat Communication Error
Use this article when a newly installed ROES Server repeatedly logs an EnsembleCommunicator(doHeartbeat) communication error in a single-server environment.
When This Applies
This fix applies to a single-server environment. In that setup, ROES Server should be configured to run isolated.
Fix Steps
Stop ROES Server activity
Stop everything, including printers and the ROES Server.
Open Settings
Click the cog icon at the upper right to open Settings.
Enable Run isolated
In the upper-left quadrant, check the box for Run isolated.
Apply the setting
Click the nearby Apply button in the same area.
Return to the main panes
Click the Back button at the upper left to return to the main ROES Server panes.
Expected Result
After Run isolated is enabled and applied in a single-server environment, the repeating heartbeat communication error should stop appearing in the Messages pane and log.
Important Note
Use this procedure only after confirming the lab is running a single-server environment. Multi-server environments may require different coordination settings.
Escalation Notes
- Confirm the install is ROES Server v3.
- Confirm the error is repeating in the Messages pane or log.
- Confirm the environment is single-server before enabling Run isolated.
- If the message continues after applying the setting, collect the ROES Server log and confirm whether any printers or agents are still running.
