Client Image File Types

This article applies to both ROES Web and ROES Desktop and summarizes client image file type support.

Overview

ROES Clients can create orders using a variety of image file types. ROES Web depends on browser capability for which image files it will accept, and some file types accepted by the browser may still need conversion before they will render at the lab in ROES Server.

Configuration Note

File types you want to allow may be defined in your templates file under the configuration element by adding the imagefiletypes attribute with a comma-separated value set.

imagefiletypes Attribute

Use the imagefiletypes attribute in the configuration element to define which file types should be allowed by the client.

ROES Desktop Client

ROES Web browser support varies by browser. The following reference images show supported file types for Safari, Chrome / Edge, and Firefox.

Expected Result

The client should allow only the image file types defined in the templates configuration and supported by the client platform. In ROES Web, accepted file types may vary depending on the browser in use.

Escalation Notes

If a file type is expected to be accepted, verify the imagefiletypes attribute is defined correctly in the templates configuration.
If the issue is in ROES Web, confirm which browser is being used because file type support varies by browser.
If a file uploads but does not render correctly at the lab, the format may require conversion before ROES Server can render it.
