ROES Server Database Connection Error: GENERATEORDERID Constraint Violation

Use this article when ROES Server fails to start with a database connection error referencing GENERATEORDERID.

Product: ROES Server Category: Database / Launch Audience: Lab / Support Article ID: 8
Common symptom
ROES Server fails to start and shows this error:
Database Connection Error: integrity constraint violation: unique constraint or index violation; SYS_PK_10128 table: GENERATEORDERID

Cause

This error indicates a database integrity constraint problem involving the GENERATEORDERID table. Removing the generated ProductionInfo database files, while keeping ProductionInfo.xml, allows ROES Server to rebuild the needed files during launch.

Important

Do not delete ProductionInfo.xml. Delete or send to the Recycle Bin only the other files that start with ProductionInfo.

Fix Steps

1

Open the ROES Server home folder

Go to the server home folder under C:\Users and the Windows username. For example:

C:\Users\Admin\.ROESSAServer
2

Remove the generated ProductionInfo files

Delete or send to the Recycle Bin all files that start with ProductionInfo, except for ProductionInfo.xml.

ProductionInfo... files except ProductionInfo.xml
3

Launch ROES Server again

Launch ROES Server from the desktop icon. ROES Server should open and rebuild the needed files properly.

Expected Result

After the generated ProductionInfo files are removed and ProductionInfo.xml is preserved, ROES Server should rebuild the files and start normally.

Escalation Notes

  • Confirm the error references SYS_PK_10128 and the GENERATEORDERID table.
  • Confirm the correct server home folder was used, such as .ROESSAServer or the lab-specific server folder.
  • Confirm ProductionInfo.xml was not deleted.
  • If the server still does not start, collect the ROES Server log and list the remaining ProductionInfo files in the server home folder.
