ROES Client First Launch Error: Unable to Load JVM Library
Use this article when the ROES Client fails to install or launch for the first time and reports that ROESEngine cannot load the JVM library.
Product: ROES Client / ROESEngine Category: Install / Windows Audience: Customer / Support Article ID: 9
Common symptom
The ROES Client fails to install or launch for the first time, and this error appears:
Unable to start ROESEngine Unable to load JVM Library
Cause
This can happen when part of the ROESEngine installation process fails. Starting fresh by deleting the cached ROES engine files is usually the best fix.
Before You Begin
Close ROES and any installer windows before deleting the SWROES folder.
Fix Steps
1
Open ProgramData
Click Start, type the following path into the field that appears, then press Enter or click OK:
C:\ProgramData
2
Delete the SWROES folder
In the window that opens, scroll down and find the SWROES folder. Delete it.
C:\ProgramData\SWROES
3
Run the installer again
Re-run the launch.msi file and allow ROES to install again.
Expected Result
After the old SWROES cache is removed and launch.msi is run again, ROESEngine should install fresh files and the ROES Client should launch normally.
Escalation Notes
- Confirm the exact error includes Unable to load JVM Library.
- Confirm the customer deleted the full SWROES folder from C:\ProgramData.
- Confirm the customer re-ran the current launch.msi installer after deleting SWROES.
- If the error continues, check whether antivirus or Windows permissions are preventing ROESEngine files from being written.
